I have looked in the library file.  It also includes paths to the media 
files and bits of encoded binary.  I don't remember what the latter 
were, but obviously they are not within the media file.

So, if you don't add, delete, or relocate media and don't change 
whatever those other things are....  Note that (depending on prefs) 
editing artist, album, etc. may automatically change the path of the 
media file in addition to the ID3 tags.

Interesting that the file is still in the original XML format instead of 
the binary they switched to for .plist
