Die entscheidenden Unterschiede:

- während die "etablierten Medienkanäle" die Meldung direkt an der 
Quelle korrigieren können (und dies meist auch umgehend tun), bleiben 
fake news oft lange Zeit im Original online und werden immer wieder neu 
verlinkt. Sie überleben dabei leicht die echten News.

- während Journalisten aus einem Fauxpas lernen können, sterben die fake 
news-Autoren nicht aus, sei es aus Dummheit oder Vorsatz.
