You have 'struct x', you add padding, test it, it is faster.  You have
'struct y', you add padding, test it, it is faster.  You have 'struct
z', you add padding, test it, it is faster.  You have 'struct w', you
add padding, test it, it is slower [oops doesn't always work].

You have 'struct a', and your boss says 'can't test!  just guess!'.
What would you do?
