Oh man, Acronis! Once I thought this program was great and once posted
pages of problems with it. I used the free WD and Seagate versions and
2009 and 2011 versions. And one problem keeps popping up with all of
them.
Have you actually tried to restore from an USB drive yet? Acronis has no
problems backing up to any USB drive. It does this perfectly. But where
it has problems is restoring. Some it can never see at all. Some it can
see on a good day. And some it can always see. This drove me to my wits
end.
I could see if other programs had the same problem that it is probably
not Acronis fault. BUT IT IS ONLY ACRONIS THAT HAS THIS PROBLEM! Acronis
answer is to not use an USB drive to restore. What a load of crap if you
ask me. Why the hell should I partition my laptop hard drive just to
whole the backup? Then the stupid hard drive fails? Is Acronis really
that stupid? It appears so!
