However, using the word 'type' in a way that is inconsistent with the definition provided by the C standard, serves only to confuse people who are familiar with that definition. The correct way, within a C context, to say what you want to say, is "There are no user-defined basic types in C". It's a perfectly true, utterly non-controversial statement, and also one that would be completely irrelevant in the context where you said, incorrectly, "There are no user-defined types in C". > ...
