More likely youy haven't installed required dependency, this is a 
problem microsoft as it don't have a proper package management system 
that handles dependencies and of course as you are using an version that 
had end of life back in 2017-04-11.

If you use one of the suggested OS:es from distrowatch.com, they come 
with support for git, if not by default but just use the package manager 
and you get it installed with just a click.
