There is one:

- It doesn't do what the customer wants.

The code base (really bases, there are multiple languages) is large and 
complex, why?  Because the problem domain is large and complex.  The 
mathematics is complex, the machine control is complex, the peripheral 
devices we manage are complex, the 3D operator UI is complex and so on.

With "embedded" projects such as ours we can't afford unnecessary 
complexity, we have fixed processing assets that we have to support for 
years.  Every clock cycle counts.  But that doesn't mean we don't have 
to solve complex problems.
