Because it's a bit harder!

('strinclude' is a lexical directive that yields one token - a string 
constant, of type pointer to char; much simpler. That's not to say I 
can't do that, but it hasn't come up yet. It would done like this:

    []byte imfiledata = bininclude "fred.jpg"

Once that is done, then the translation to C needs nothing special 
(except that it would generate a {...} data sequence with one byte per 
line, spanning possibly millions of lines).

There would also be an overhead of 64 memory bytes per data byte, in the 
compiler, putting an upper limit on the file sizes, unless I invent some 
special handling. The strinclude version only uses one memory byte per 
data byte.)
