For a great example of how these things work out in reality, check out
the Ivanpah solar plant just outside of Las Vegas.

Even though it is in the desert, the output is far less than expected,
it is burning huge amounts of natural gas to get the boilers started
in the morning, it is causing birds flying over it to burst into
flames, and it is a giant hazard to navigation to pilots flying in
to Las Vegas.

Your typical green disaster.
