Interesting page.

starts with:

"Mount Everest is the highest peak on Earth at 29,028 feet above sea level.

The rock at the top of the peak is a marine limestone, deposited on the
sea floor about 450 million years ago! This is an amazing fact that
begs the question - how did that rock get there?"

I said: all mountains are created as sea-mounts under water and then
lifted by a process, that is related to Growing Earth.

There are actually two:
- decreasing curvature would make pieces of the crust raise
- downwards bulge below mountains would slide upwards, if the upper
plate is pulled sideways, because the downward bulge rests in a negative
bulge (or indentation).

Second quote from same page:

"Brittle-Ductile Properties of the Lithosphere

We all know that rocks near the surface of the Earth behave in a brittle
manner. Crustal rocks are composed of minerals like quartz and feldspar
which have high strength, particularly at low pressure and temperature.
As we go deeper in the Earth the strength of these rocks initially
increases."

So, the upper tectonic plates are mainly brittle crystal-like rocks.

And the mountains are definitely on top of the upper plates.

Third quote:

"At a depth of about 15 km we reach a point called the brittle-ductile
transition zone. Below this point rock strength decreases because
fractures become closed and the temperature is higher, making the rocks
behave in a ductile manner."

With 'crust' we usually mean the part above this transition zone, here
said to be 15 km deep. But in fact the depth is different in different
places. The crust is thinner below the oceans and the thickest below
high mountains.

15 km is quite a thickness for a solid piece of rock and the material
below isn't exactly fluid neither. Only it is ductile and could be bent.

Forth quote:

"Fracture of Brittle Rocks

As we have discussed previously, brittle rocks tend to fracture when
placed under a high enough stress. Such fracturing, while it does
produce irregular cracks in the rock, sometimes produces planar features
that provide evidence of the stresses acting at the time of formation of
the cracks."

So, despite you saying otherwise, this page claims, that rocks break
apart, if put under stress high enough.
