Argumentum ad populum. Just because lots of people believe in something does not make it true, nor does it confer credibility or legitimacy on the belief itself. As for omnipotence, I was speaking not about what your god claims he is capable of but of his actions. Omnipotence is immaterial in the face of the actual track record. What your god could have done with Abraham or the people of Jericho or humanity itself is one thing, what he actually DID is quite another.
