Good post!  Nice to see some actual advocacy here now and then.

While I've looked at LibreOffice and have it installed on my Linux on 
ChromeBook, I still use MS Office via the super deal of Office365.  But I 
can see where others might find LibreOffice to be a viable substitute.  
But keep in mind that while those numbers the article quotes are good for 
FOSS software, they are a very small blip in a huge market.  

But the one thing that sticks out is the pathetic 8,000 donations vs the 
number of downloads.  That is really pathetic!  You'd think that most 
users would pay something for software with the quality and usability of 
LibreOffice.
