I have Tbird extensions set for manual updates, too, but I'd prefer any
updates to Cardbook not even be shown to me at this time.

Some of my computers are still using Thunderbird 115.18.0 and Cardbook
94.5, which is the latest version offered for that Tbird. This
combination works fine. A couple other computers are using Tbird
128.6.0esr, and a newer version of Cardbook, 97.7, is offered for this
newer version of Tbird. If I stick to old version 94.5, it looks and
acts like I expect. If I update Cardbook to 97.7, the display is
garbled - font is wrong, elements are displaced, pictures missing,
scrollbars are missing or non-working. I can downgrade to 94.5 and all
is again well.

Reading about the issues on Github, this appears to be a common and
known problem that was introduced during CB 95.x and has something to
do with the developer converting the interface to html. Seems it still
needs work. I'm surprised that it looks OK to you - this is the kind of
thing that I would have guessed affected everybody or nobody, but
apparently not.
