Hmmm... last time I went to a PDQ Bach/Peter Schickele concert was 30 years
ago. Seems like his performance style sisn't changed much. I was
disappointed by all the slapstick stage gags and there seemed to be a
shortage of musical gags. (I have several PDQ Bach records from 70's so I
was well acquainted with what Schickele could do.) My music teacher thought
that perhaps he was aiming at an audience less knowlegeable than me, and
that a lot of people wouldn't get the musical jokes. (Talk about setting the
bar low.)
