Recall that my earlier post today where I added just a feature (although 
for text files) into a C compiler in around 20 minutes. Binary files 
would take a bit longer.

Does the proposed std::embed feature deal with your [DB's] requirements 
for CRCs and file conversions? I don't know. Would you still reject it 
if not?
