Doing it from the file browser does not serve a single use-case discussed.

But when you moved goal posts to that I showed you how I can do that on OS
X... with, by the way, a simple three line "program":

I admit, though, that my method has a number of weaknesses and is not one I
would tend to use... but shows even a non-programmer can do much the same on
OS X.

As I said, does not need to be in the print dialog to have a similar
workflow. But Linux simply lacks it ANYWHERE in programs.
