Of course they're not improvements of C90 -- because they're already
in C90.
The rules for reserved identifiers are essentially unchanged across
C89, C90, C99, and C11. (The "Future library directions" section
has grown a bit with the addition of new headers.)
Can you clarify what features you dislike? Do you think that
identifiers starting with underscores *shouldn't* be reserved to
the implementation? If so, how are implementations of the standard
library supposed to be written without the risk of breaking user
code?
