I know this is a FAQ, but despite guidance, I've only met frustration. 

I had a Netgear 802.11b which worked after I used the orinoco driver,
but then it began to drop the connection, requiring reboots.

I looked for a PCI card that would work with Debian out of the box
(kernel driver), and purchased a Gigabyte Wireless 802.11G Lan
Pci because it was highly recommended. Unfortunately the information was
old, and this model no longer works at all.

It seems the cards that work well are ones with RaLink chipsets. Do I
understand that the RaLink chip is on the Rosewill cards? I'm going to
try a Rosewill RNX-300x. Is this supported by a kernel module, or do I
have to install a RaLink driver?
