I installed the Rosewill RNX-N300x, and before I knew that there was
already a staging module (rt2860sta) available in my kernel I downloaded
a staging driver for it and compiled it. It works fine (but see below).

I had to modify my interfaces file because the interface for this driver
is ra0. Then I had tell wicd Preferences that that was this name of the
interface. Until then, wicd-gui showed no network connections.

One anomaly is that wicd-gui reports signal strengh of only 34% (it is
now only a few feet from my router, but will end up at some
distance). Another AP in the building is 100%.  No idea why the strengh
is so low. However, when I hover my mouse over the wicd icon on my
desktop it says it is connected at 86% strength. Also the icon has now
acquired a vertical green stripe on its right, and I've no idea what
it means.
