That wording is going to confuse some people. int64_t is guaranteed to
be a 64-bit integer type (with no padding bits and that uses 2's
complement for negative values). It will and alias for either long or
long long only when that guarantee can be met.

Readers who want to learn C should note that this is, again, misleading
(at best). Not only is "print("%ld",a) (Linux)" wrong in at least three
ways (which I know you are not interested in), the table also avoids
discussing the advantages of C.
The reader (at least this reader) is left wondering how a 32- or 16-bit
zero literal is written in M, how you might write, say, an unsigned
32-bit integer as hex in M, and how M reports input errors.
