Break, in the sense of issue a diagnostic, yes, but I don't think it can
break in the sense of suddenly and silently meaning something else
because of the uniqueness requirement.

But I notice that since it works with pointers, you don't even need to
change a struct or union for this to happen.  Just altering the
visibility of an aggregate's members can trigger the change from a
unique to an ambiguous access.

It seems to me to be a "fix" of the wrong kind.  It avoids typing rather
then letting you say something you could not say before.  I.e. it's just
presentation, and as such could be provided by your editor or choice:

  struct S *sp;
  sp.

(auto-correct suggests sp->)

  sp->x

(auto-correct suggests sp->sub.inner->x)

Finally, why only ~> for pointers?  What's the . equivalent?  If you
twisted by arm, I'd have only ~ and make that work for both pointer and
direct member access.
