It seems to have almost nothing in common with Forth.  It's another
Lisp-like language with postfix syntax and some nice multitasking
features.  You could try Erlang/Elixir/LFE.  The 8 queens solution is
ugly too.  This works for me in Haskell:

    noattack (a,b) (c,d) = a/=c && b/=d && abs(a-c)/=abs(b-d)

    gen 8 qss = qss
    gen n qss = gen (n+1) [(n,q):qs | qs <- qss, q <- [0..7]
                                    , all (noattack (n,q)) qs ]

    main = mapM_ (print . map snd) $ gen 0 [[]]

*Main> main
[3,1,6,2,5,7,4,0]
[4,1,3,6,2,7,5,0]
[2,4,1,7,5,3,6,0]
[2,5,3,1,7,4,6,0]
[4,6,0,2,7,5,3,1]
