And I have always agreed with that half. (You are wrong about all sort of things about it, such as the loop you once thought existed in Ĵ's transition graph, but the basic fact is correct.) Ĵ is to Ĥ as "Halts with line 15 commented out" is to Halts. You've been clear about this for ages. Its non-halting is the fig leaf you use to cover up the fact that the string <Ĥ> <Ĥ> represents the halting computation of Ĥ with just <Ĥ> on the tape. -- Ben.
