Das System ist weder in der Lage – denn dazu müsste es das 
Halteproblem (<https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halteproblem#top>) 
lösen –, zu überprüfen, ob der Anwender vielleicht vergessen hat, 
einen Grafik‐Desktop‐Start hineinzuschreiben, damit es nach 
Beendigung von «~/.xsession» stillschweigend einen für ihn starten 
könnte, noch willens, den Anwender zu gängeln:  «Der Anwender hat 
sich eine ‹~/.xsession› installiert?  Der Anwender will es so!  Also 
sei es so».

«~/.xsession» ruft aus Sicht des Systems nicht erst eine 
Grafiksitzung auf.  Aus Sicht des Systems ist «~/.xsession» bereits 
die vom Anwender für sich installierte Grafiksitzung, die er erhält, 
wenn er beim Einloggen im Auswahlmenü keine andere Grafiksitzung 
auswählt.

Anders betrachtet:  «~/.xsession» ist der Einhängepunkt, der es dem 
Anwender ermöglicht, eine eigene Grafiksitzung, die nicht bereits 
vom Systemadministrator im Auswahlmenü bereitgestellt wird, zu 
starten.  Deshalb ist es dem Anwender vollständig freigestellt, was 
er damit macht:  Er kann es als Shell‐Skript gestalten oder auch 
beispielsweise als symbolic link auf ein installiertes 
Desktop‐System.

Und wenn er es nicht im voraus weiß, kann er es sich auch von 
«xkbset-gui» kaputt machen lassen.
