Once again Valev shows that he is utterly unable to read.
And he got it backwards -- if wavelength were an intrinsic
property of a light ray, it would necessarily have the same
value whenever it is measured. If it varies as in (B), that
is a clear indication it is NOT intrinsic to the light ray
(because it ALSO depends on how it is measured).
I have said MANY TIMES around here, including many threads started by Valev,
that wavelength is NOT an intrinsic property of light, and that the wavelength
of light from distant astronomical objects is OBSERVED TO VARY, both for
differently-moving objects, and as the earth orbits the sun (annual Doppler shift).
So of course the answer to his question is (B) -- but this is not due to the
source "sending" different light (as Valev's phrasing supposes), rather it is
due to the changing relationship between the source and the measuring instrument.
BTW frequency is also not an intrinsic property of light. It also varies, such
that in vacuum the phase speed (wavelength*frequency) is c to all observers for
all sources. (This presumes monochromatic light so the values are definite.)
[Of course Valev will invoke Orwell's "crimestop" and cease
reading as soon as it looks like my statements will conflict
with his cherished fantasies.]
Note to readers: Pentcho Valev is among the most persistent idiots
around here. He has been repeating this nonsense for many years,
without any attempt to learn the subject he tries to write about.
I reply to him only occasionally, as a service to readers who may
not recognize his mistakes. He has proven himself to be unable
and unwilling to learn anything.
