What I'm seeing here isn't an argument against C, it's an argument
against the clumsy and foolish ways that people have used it. I'd be
the first to agree that some C implementations are nightmarish
abominations -- but that's a problem with a specific implementation,
not with C as such.

People have gone on to create many languages that variously attempt to
correct C's shortcomings; some have had some success, most have faded
to obscurity. Yet C itself persists. In light of this a fellow, a
smart fellow, might take a break from looking at what's wrong with C,
and take a moment to reflect on what's right with C.
