Speed is defined to be the magnitude of velocity (v = ||v⃗||), velocity is the time-derivative of position (v⃗ = ∂x⃗∕∂t), and acceleration is the time-derivative of velocity (a⃗ = ∂v⃗∕∂t; so all those quantities are dependent on the chosen frame of reference).
