Generally when we take a mean we're taking the mean of a sample, and any precision-related error is irrelvant because the sampling error is much higher. But sometimes it might be a nuisance if mean(array) != mean(shuffle(array)). It's a sign of sloppy programming to rely on two floats being equal, but sloppy programming isn't all thnat rare.
