i don't keep track of who uses google's apis. ask google. maybe they
know.

presumably google's other apps use it, such as gmail.

yes, i did, because the functionality exists and you and likely many
other people were unaware of it.

not only do i think it exists, but i *know* it exists.

what more do you want? a phone call from eric schmidt?

it will probably be mentioned in the app's description, but what one
app does isn't likely to be the same as what another app does, so i
don't know why that matters. 

explore the app's features and settings or email the developer and ask.
if it doesn't support it, ask that it be added in a future update.

heck, an app could even launch *only* google maps if it was so designed.
