No. Less secure in google parlance is non-oauth2.

For example, fetchmail is a non-secure app.
Alpine is a non-secure app.

Because they are not interactive when doing the authorization exchange.
Thus any daemon will be "unsecure" to them.
Thunderbird uses javascript for this and can present to you a dialog
with instructions from them.
