messing with file names is never necessary because the file name is not
what matters. what matters are the id3 tags in the file.

leave the file names alone and let itunes worry about what the files
are called and where they are. it does a better job than humans can.

file names can be as long as 255 characters and if something can't
handle that, then it's broken.
