since you said you want to make a stop-motion movie out of it, the
movie will be much bigger than it needs to be since you'll have
zillions of images, all exactly the same. 

if you can't see the difference between images, then you might as well
just take one photo and be done with it.

you can't tell if you got a copy of an image you already have seen
since every image it takes will be different from the previous images,
even if nothing changed in the scene.
