Next thing I know, I get an email from > Apple wanting a copy of the receipt from where I bought the Applecare. That's because there was something fishy about your AppleCare. All AppleCare must be registered through Apple via the serial number of the product and the AppleCare serial number. If you buy the AppleCare and the product from Apple at the same time this process is transparent; the product is registered, you don't do anything, and you receive an envelope from Apple containing information pertaining to your AppleCare. You never need to open the envelope unless you want to transfer the AppleCare later. if you take the item to an Apple Genius Bar for service they scan the manufacturer's label and instantly know that it is covered by AppleCare. You mark the envelope "AppleCare iPad April 2012" and keep it with your April 2012 iPad's original packaging, which you are saving in brand-new condition in order to get maximum price for the iPad on eBay one day. -- I agree with almost everything that you have said and almost everything that you will say in your entire life. usenet *at* davidillig dawt cawm
