that's not necessary. apple checks the serial number to see if there's
coverage, not the name. 

you can run the serial number yourself. put in the serial number in the
link below and it says if it is covered or not.

i've bought stuff on ebay with applecare and when i took it in, they
looked up the number, saw it was covered and fixed it for no charge.

true. it doesn't matter.

could be, i haven't looked in a while. 

you still have to watch out for used codes where people resell the
applecare kit after using the code. it's possible to get legitimate
applecare on ebay, you just have to be careful.
