Why not use CCC the way it's supposed to work- start from the external and clone it right back to the new machine? Or if you don't like the idea of wiping your new machine, plug in your external the first time you start the new machine and use Migration Assistant. It really does work well. I don't know why you had problems before. You shouldn't have to move anything. Just when you start the new machine, create a test user- don't use the username that you have on the external. You can delete the test user later. -- m-m http://www.mhmyers.com
