My wife's MacBook died (video cable) so it was a good time to buy a new laptop. She gets my mid-2011 MacBook Air (Mavericks) and I have a new MacBook Air (Yosemite) on order. I don't use Time Machine but do have my Mavericks Air backed up via CCC on an external HD. Moving/reinstalling apps is fairly straight forward but my concern is Mail. When I moved up from the old MacBook to the Air, I used Migration Assistant and that was a real mess. It took Apple about an hour to get my Mail folders, etc migrated successfully to the new Air and setup the way I wanted. Being as I'm starting with a brand new, and clean system (Yosemite) I'd like to keep it that way and not move any items I don't want or have any use for. All I see is the Mail app in the Applications Folder and can't find anything else Mail-related that I could copy over. I don't even see a plist for Mail. Is there a way to copy/paste my Mail folder to Yosemite so that all my received/sent mail and mail folders are still intact? Should I just create new folders and then copy/paste the contents from Mavericks to Yosemite, including my received/sent emails? -- Deja Moo: I've seen this bullshit before. Please respond to: scasse@invalid.net replacing invalid with sonic.
