But how do you get your privacy back once you've lost it by the account?

Well, I do use a Costco VISA, so it's not that I don't pay for anything.

While my Internet is free (because I'm a good person, that's why), my point
was that I deplore the business concept that if you pay for an app, they
remove the ads, but remember, my device is incapable of showing ads anyway.

It's a philosophical stance that I deplore the monetization of my privacy.

Hmmm... I'm going to have a difficult time explaining to you without
hurting your feelings why your "attitude" is so wrong as to be absurd.

The Apple religious zealots make the same claims that you just did.
Their claim is that if you're not paying through the nose for something,
then you're 'stealing' it, which is so absurd that I have to ask you why.

Why is it you feel the only way to get legit free stuff is to pay for it?

I spent, oh, I don't know, about half a day or so, running commands on my
phone to see if an ad could pop up if it had "wanted" to pop up & it can't.

Long ago, mostly for privacy reasons, I stripped out the entire ad-related
infrastructure on Android, given it's not required for Android to work.

What I'm trying to tell you, is that in stripping out everything on my
phone that is unnecessary, I "accidentally" stripped out the ad mechanism.

Even if an ad wanted to pop up on my phone, it doesn't have a way to do it.
