  My previous 128GB phone still had a SD-card slot, but like you, I
never had any use for it, 128GB was more than enough. (My current phone
is 256GB, no SD-card slot. 60GB used.)

  My first phones were only 4GB and 8GB (yes, non-volatile Internal
storage, not RAM). On those phones, one needed to use a SD-card to be
able to do anything useful.

  Of course SD-cards are not in anyway obsolete. That they're not often
used in *smartphones* anymore, does not mean that the *medium* is
"obsolete". One just has to look at the abundance of brands, suppliers,
stock, etc. to see how silly such a stance is. But then, we do know
*who* is uttering such sillyness over and over again, don't we!? :-)

  FWIW, our digital cameras *do* have SD-card slots and yes we *do* use
them (the cameras and the slots)! :-)
