I still stuggle to simply say "thank you" rather than >deny it. Last night before the meeting an ex-home group member of my group approached me and told me how much he appreciated me including him in some of our motorcycle rides and our conversations about AA principles and general service. He was sad to see me leave. I was quite surprised by this because I had convinced myself he left the home group becaue of me. One night had told him the group conscience was to read from the *real* Big Book, not the Plain Language Big Book. He's taken a liking to that book and would read from it when it was his turn. That pissed off several people so I felt it necessary to tell him about the book, but I didn't tell him about the people. He quit the group shortly after that, claiming it didn't "meet his needs" anymore. After the meeting last night I tried to ask him the real reason he left the group, but we were interrupted by someone else and that conversation got too long so I left it alone. I figured that was God's way of telling me it wasn't my business.
