I will say this over and over until the ignorant get the message:
When you "move" a file from one directory to another directory on the
same volume there is no second file ("ORIGINAL" vs "RELOCATED")
The file's data NEVER MOVES.
A "move" as described is literally NO DIFFERENT than just renaming the
file, so there is no need to check that something has been changed.
