I have recently switched to free nomachine for all my systems:
Windows 10 (fully up to date)
Windows 11 (fully up to date)
Anduin Linux(fully up to date)
Arch Linux (fully up to date)
Fedora 41 (fully up to date)
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (fully up to date)
Ubuntu 25.04 LTS (fully up to date)
Ubuntu 2510 LTS (fully up to date)
Mint 21-3 (fully up to date)
Mint 22 (fully up to date)

nomachine was easy to install and has given me no problems. I only use 
it on my home lan: no internet access even though they support it.  YMMV 
but it works perfectly for my use case and I haven't found any 'edge' cases.
