Not just "power issues", but even something like an earthquake ... BUT
the problem is that "wireless" everything is the latest fad and must
have toy (despite the fact that increased use of batteries definitely
doesn't meet the "Green" political correctness), so it's difficult to
actually find anywhere selling a "hard-wired phone" these days. Some of
the portable / wireless phones do have battery back-up in the base
station, but that's not going to last long-term and of course nothing
is going to help if the power outage is also affecting the local
exchange.
