If you run low, pop in a set of charged cells! you aren't actually suggesting making a laptop to run on a bunch of aa eneloops, are you? right now, a macbook air can get as much as 15 hours of run time on one charge, all in a 2 pound laptop. there's no need to worry about running low. using aa batteries would be more than twice the bulk, ridiculously inconvenient and probably not that much cheaper, if it is at all.
