It looks like iOS 26.1 (+ iPadOS 26.1 and macOS26.1) will allow users to
toggle the appearance of Liquid Glass in a "slide to stop" optionfor alarms in
the Clock app, and more.

I'm not particularly put off by Liquid Glass but I know many users seem to be

Slide to stop for alarms will be useful for some no doubt. Even more 
useful would be the ability to set an alarm more than 24 hours into the 
future.[1]

And while we're requesting changes, what about the ability to hang up an 
incoming call by tapping the screen? I know I can press the button on 
the side[2] but it would be nice to ignore a call without having to pick 
up the phone.


[1] I could use a reminder of course but the default Reminder sound is 
too quiet and it can't be changed on a per reminder basis.

[2] YMMV depending on phone model

I like it on my MacBook; seems to really slow down my (approx. 2020 pre M1)
 iPad Pro.

Relatively old news. Installed on 3 Macs, 2 iPhones and 1 iPad for 
hours. Even in Europe. ;-)

Policy and decades long habits. I do it early in the morning when nobody 
needs the devices for serious stuff.

In case of a total failure of the updates and urgent needs there are 
some very up to date Linux-machines available ... ;-)

It is already posible to turn it off in 26.0,
but this is hidden away in the 'Accessibility' tab.

Os 26.1 will put it at a hgher level,
making it easier to find,

Not sure it’s that much better, it’s just one level up in a different
panel, and you have to go to Accessibility first if you already turned on
Reduce Transparency or Bold options.

Yo do have to turn off the ‘Reduce Transparency’ (and/or Bold if you set
it) option first, then you can adjust the Liquid Glass setting in Displays,
then go back and turn on ‘Reduce Transparency’ again, which seems to
overall give a much cleaner UI if you use both settings.

There is more to it. In addition there is the "Colored Theme" according 
to your settings. There are now 4 of them. Settings - Appearance.
