She is. If you're still talking about me, that is. :) Or rather, she was.
She insulated her place quite nicely a while back. The infrared doohickey
shows very little thermal leaking near any of the windows or doors, even.

Hey, Nads, scientific genius, I seem to be having some trouble. My
science education seems inadequate to understand the subtleties of
climate change. In particular I don't seem to recognize that crucial
piece of climate gear known as the "infrared doohicky"! Perhaps you
could get "Kanzi" to jump into your sock and give us a Ph.D. level
exposition of what exactly a science "doohicky" is. Inquiring minds want
to know.

This is SO funny!
I love it when libs try to bluff their way pretending to know science.

 (little slippy there Nads/kensipupa)

how do you know she insulated her place ?

What is thermal leaking ?

Sure, but in China, where the cells are manufactured they primarily use C O
A L...and dirty coal at that.

Further it's kind of pointless to use solar to produce more solar when then
panels are most likely never going to produce as much energy as used to
create them.

Further we would also need to consider the added heat that solar would cause
since the panels are more absorptive than reflective and thus would trap
more solar heat within the atmosphere thus compounding any global warming.

In theory, in practice, the average return is less than the sum of the
energy investment to create the panel.

Nor does this eliminate the fact that the pollution caused by production is
all concentrated at the time of production thus compounding the effect of
the pollution produced rather than the more distributed pollution produced
by conventional methods.

Not really, given that the average real world observed life is 17
years...which puts it right around your best case result for energy
neutrality.

Yes, but then you have a lot more conversion loses in electric cars, as well
as the pollution from all the rare earth mining necessary to get the
elements used in the motors and batteries for such cars.

Which is exactly what happens with solar cell production which involves a
lot of heavy metals and toxic chemicals. They can't be removed totally from
the discharge so they are dispersed over a vast area as air pollution, water
pollution and soil pollution. Further such chemicals remain for centuries or
longer and don't break down quickly and easily like common green house gases
would and do.

She wouldn't be wasting money on dirty solar while claiming to be 'saving
the planet'.

Didn't we *just* do this dance? It ended with that k'lame being
massively refuted.

Idiot. If the payoff time is one to four years and they last 17 that's
well into positive net energy territory. And they actually last 30.

> Yes, but then you have a lot more conversion loses in electric cars,

You must be joking. A normal gasoline car has a tank-to-wheel efficiency
of 16%. An electric car, at 85% to 90%, is over four times as efficient
at turning energy into motion.

Well-to-tank efficiency is also greater for electric, especially if the
energy source is renewable.

CO2 has a residency time in the atmosphere measured in centuries, k0ok.

liar, try 7 to 10 year.

wrong.
apples and oranges,
you have to transport the electricity to the location, and generate the
electricity is made a 60% chance of using coal.
you have to store the electricity in special $6,000 batteries that have
to be replaced every 7 years and deal with that pollution

Wrong, as already established, but even if that were correct a 7 year
payoff time means 10 years of free energy from it afterward. = you'd
STILL be wrong on the larger point!

But I guess you're used to being wrong all the time by now...

This is SO typical of Marxist Libs and their wonderful ideas. I recall
some years ago the CEO of Exxon (yes that guy) on Charlie Rose (before
Rose's perversions were outed) explaining in no uncertain terms (with
math, figures and everything) how the liberal plans for Solar and Wind
were doomed to fail to take over as a power source for civilization. It
was hilarious to see this truth pouring out on liberal PBS and right
into Globalist Rose's face! But libs still try to sell the plan as their
"green revolution" crashed and burns. One more epic fail in their record.

Libs do this over and over and nobody ever catches on. Remember when
Marxism was going to turn the earth into utopia? Wonderful Lib
understanding of human nature. Not only tortured half the world with
idiot schemes (Like cultural revolution) and murdered a hundred million
to prop the scheme up, in the end it crashed and burned like all liberal
idiocies. Remember when they convinced Congress to stop all school
shootings by posting "gun free zone" signs in all schools. So how did
that work out? Any person with the tiniest modicum of common sense would
understand that criminals and nutjobs do not obey laws let along signs.
And all it did was create sanctuary zones, where shooters don't have to
worry about someone shooting back. But somehow these libs are so good at
fantasy they dominate entertainment and news and in spite of example
after example (burning food to save the planet is a good one) They
change the words over and over and none of you stoops can figure out
they are doing it again. Shame on all you people who let them get away
with this bullshit.
