Hi. Please, is it known the mechanism through which the force of gravity works?

No. “Scientists “ will tell you Earth creates gravity “just by being there.” Odd is a “scientist “.

john <johnsefton288@gmail.com> wrote: > No. > “Scientists “ will tell you Earth creates gravity “just by being there.” > Odd is a “scientist “. > I’m a woodworker, not a scientist. But I’ve read more than John, so I have a better grip on the current thinking. For the OP, “works” in science has an operational meaning. We can say we know how gravity works when the theory generates quantitative predictions that match detailed and corroborated measurements. General relativity is such a model, and because its unambiguous predictions match experiment very well and over a very wide range of measurements, then physicists say that its description of how gravity works is a good one. The description of that can be found in any number of books aimed at the lay reader, though to get more precise and detailed, you’ll have to dive a little deeper. You will find that there are some people here, like John, who don’t care about the operational definition of “works” that scientists use. These people will have various complaints, such as: - space cannot possibly influence matter, because of the human meaning of the word “space”; - it’s too mathematical, which means it’s wrong; - the only “real” explanations can involve matter banging on matter; - my theory is easier to understand and easier to understand is always more right. Be on guard about thinking like this. -- Odd Bodkin — Maker of fine toys, tools, tables

john <johnsefton288@gmail.com> writes: >No. >"Scientists " will tell you Earth creates gravity "just by being there." Beware of what John writes. John won't read physics books, prefering to make up his own "science" instead. This is a surprisingly common problem of many posters here, they feel they can make things up as they go along. >Odd is a "scientist ". He says he's a woodworker, why do you doubt that?

Mass tells spacetime how to curve, the curvature of spacetime tells mass how to move.

G=EMC^2 is in reality an equation of words to describe how gravity and God created all that is in the cosmos Bert

It’s fun that you think electromagnetic fields are voodoo, John. And electrons repel each other just fine. BTW you keep whining about "suck gravity" but nary a peep from you about electric charges attracting and repelling each other. Why? Especially when opposite charges attract each other with the exact same inverse square law that "suck gravity" does! BTW, LeSage is the real "suck gravity". It works the same way that sucking on a soda straw works (or would, if LeSage gravity worked at all!). Straws work because air pressure pushes on liquid from all sides, so it doesn't move, except when sucking on the straw. There the pressure is less and the liquid goes up the straw. LeSage gravity "works" because pressure on a mass is equal on all sides except when blocked by another mass. Because of the reduced pressure, the first mass moves toward the blocking mass. Sucker!!!!!
