I just reported McGinn spam as abuse to Google, knocking out his block of 12 posts and block of 15 posts so all I see of that spam by McGinn is two blue stripes saying, posts hidden from view. So, take the five minutes each day to knock out the McGinn spammer, hide his nonsense from view and then read whatever you fancy without having that McGinn pollution. Now Wormley has been quiet lately, probably because on vacation, but I blame him for teaching McGinn to be a front page hog. Where doing science is secondary and incidental to being a hog of the front page. So, reader, do yourself a favor if you read sci.physics often, just spend the 5 minutes per day reporting these front page hogs as Google abuse and look at that nice pristine blue "posts hidden because you reported it" If McGinn and other nuisance posters like Neighbor Wrangler were over in sci.math doing what they do, then the moderator over there would long time ago have hidden their abuse, much like Pentcho Valev is hidden in sci.math. Tell me if science is capable of this-- judging from the looks of McGinn's head in his posting icon, it appears to be a "fat head", and so, can science metrics tell us if McGinn from his picture of head tell us if he is clinically obese in rest of body? Now I call him a front page hog, but perhaps, he is clinically obese to match his front page hoggedness. AP

It is a video in fact that is used by the California Mental Health Association to stamp McGinn as flipping nuts.

THe Wilson family finally got charge of Brian, and to a read Dr, and he got better. But that was the only way left for Brian Wilson to stay alive. Somebody needed to be with him round the clock to keep him from killing himself with abuse. You may say the guy used Brian but he had given up his own life to take care of him. 24 hours a day. So he felt he needed to share some of Brian's income or fortune. > some say McGinn videos demonstrate a few forms of mental stuff, > delusional, could be meth, but some people get that way naturally too, > that's life. May be he (inadvertently) looks at what he does with that subject as a challenge. Anybody needs challenge in life. In India sometimes those who don't have anything, put a plant seed inside a handful of soil and water it (while holding the soil in hand). And sit and look at it until it grows out of the soil. A tough challenge indeed. In Iran there is an extreme sect of Islam whose adherents are called "darvish". To become one, one has to go through 7 stages. One of the stages is to memorize Kuran entirely. The last stage is to kill your ego. To kill their ego they should pretend to society that they are insane. They should convince everybody around with their acts that they are insane. Often they get beaten up and pushed to periphery of whatever city they are in and survive there by hand outs or stealing, etc. After everybody becomes sure the individual is insane, the go to another city where they are not known. Now they are a Darvish. Very very difficult procedure. Another of the 7 steps is to convince everybody and themselves that they are not afraid of death... You may think they're some sort of lunatics but it's not so. They're actually pretty smart guys, with above average control over themselves. Some variations also appear in India and Turkey. Could be McGinn is on his way to become a Darvish? :) --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus

So nice to open up sci.physics today and find my post of many hours ago be the second post listed. The first post listed is 12 of the McGinn front page hog saying "thread is hidden because you reported it as abuse plus, 12 more posts." So you see, Google hides and consolidates the front page hogs, hides them from view and makes sci.physics like a normal news group. So, do yourself a favor, spend 5 minutes each day reporting the kooks as spam abuse in Google abuse reports. And they will hide those threads from view. Now one of the pernicious behaviors of McGinn is front page hogging but also he uses many fake names and he does a evil thing of recirculating all his old posts. So he circulates a block that he spammed in January or February. He does that because it is easier to spam old junk than to have to create new junk spam. It took me quite a lot of time to hide from view those old spam of his. But the benefits are paying off in that my view of sci.physics is nice. McGinn is not the only spammer but others also, and do report them for abuse. Now I wish Google would give us a option such that if you report one jerk for spam abuse, a key that if you hit the key will "hide from view all other posts of that same author". So that reporting McGinn on just one of his threads, knocks out McGinn forever more on your computer. AP

McGinn with his fake name Solving Tornadoes and with fake name of "wrangler" Took me a whole of 3 minutes to knock out 12 posts of 2014 that he recycles. Wish Google would have a key that asks-- hide for abuse all author posts. So that you knock out one Mcginn you knock out all. AP

Took me 2 minutes to knock out a block of 12 threads by the front page hog McGinn. Probably the republican convention is making the hog more aggressive.

Then in that new software, you could do like I've done, which is to tag his name as Junk, and then I never have to see or mark as spam any post from him ever again. 2. McGinn has long since passed the point of needing validation by recognition from others. He now just responds to himself to put himself on Google's front page, and this provides all the masturbatory self-gratification he needs. Even if his posts were seen by no one else but himself, that would be enough. -- Odd Bodkin --- maker of fine toys, tools, tables

If you are not able to code, perform the Google search: greasemonkey google group killfile It will provide you with dozens of examples of how to do this. Alternatively, you can always use a real NNTP client and get free access to Usenet from one of the free servers. Then you can easily use a killfile to get rid of particular users, or threads with certain words in the subjects, etc. Are you the same "Archimedes Plutonium" that pre-dates Google? If so, why are you even using Google? The original AP learned how to use real NNTP clients during the previous millenium. -- http://mduffy.x10host.com/index.htm
