And so NONE of his statements are anything more than hearsay, something 
he heard someone else tell him.
And so his relating this hearsay makes his a credible or convincing

Exactly! So he never saw an alien, never had any direct contact with 
ANYTHING alien, and so his testimony is worthless hearsay. And since 
what he was shown (and he believed) to be an alien proved to be a toy, 
then anything he has to say about aliens are to be taken as the 
statements of a poor guy who got snookered into believing something that 
was a lie.

Now, the right thing to ask is this: If Boyd Bushman, a scientist, got 
snookered into believing a lie, then is it possible that other people 
would get snookered into believing a lie?

You may recall that during Orson Wells' famous radio broadcast of a 
Martian landing in New Jersey, there were dozens of people who believed 
it was really happening to the point where they reported smelling poison 
gas and hearing explosions in the distance. Of course, there was no 
poison gas and there were no explosions in the distance. But all those 
people BELIEVED they were smelling and hearing a real Martian invasion.

Yeah, so what?  With math and physics, we can compute Jupiter's mass
from the above two factoids, from that find its density, and find it
has a rather low density. From the low density (and many many other
observations) we can conclude Jupiter is mostly gas.

I have McGinn killfiled, so I don't know (or care) what the last
sentence means.

Anyway, a comet will hit Jupiter at a tremendous speed and have an
enormous energy.  Galileo struck Jupiter at some 30 miles per second.
(BTW, you didn't comment how the Galileo mission was such a
spectacular failure)

Between striking Jupiter with enormous energy and digging up
whatever lower layers of Jupiter are made of, I am not too
surprised that impact points can remain visible for a long
time. I wonder how long Earth's "dinosaur killer" impact was
visible from space.

all the Jupiter flybys wouldn't have worked, as the incorrect
model of gravity used by NASA would have sent the spacecraft
on the wrong paths.

Galileo itself had a complex flyby sequence to even reach
Jupiter, first Venus, then Earth then Earth again, so it
would have never even reached Jupiter if our model of
gravity was wrong.  So is that the reason Galileo didn't
fail spectacularly upon reaching Jupiter, it never could
have even made it there?

theory of a liquid ocean under the icy surface of Europa, and there were 
indications of similar liquid-saltwater layers under the surfaces of 
Ganymede and Callisto. Ganymede was shown to possess a magnetic field 
and the spacecraft found new evidence for exospheres around Europa, 
Ganymede, and Callisto.[3] Galileo also discovered that Jupiter's faint 
ring system consists of dust from impacts on the four small inner moons. 
The extent and structure of Jupiter's magnetosphere was also mapped.[3]

On September 21, 2003, after 14 years in space and 8 years in the Jovian 
system, Galileo's mission was terminated by sending it into Jupiter's
