Around any axis you like.
You will always be able to tell
if I was spun left or right.
Same for electrons

Spin me. Around my long axis would
be nice, with my head up, but any
axis will do. You will always be able
to differentiate between one spin or
the other.
Now take the head up axis, rotate it
about its feet at 1, creating a disc that is
also precessing at 2, and you have a
+1/2 electron.
Take the head down electron, rotate it
about its feet at 1, creating a disc that
at the same time precesses at 2, and
you have a -1/2 electron.

But John, Odd says that electrons are "points" points of ZERO
dimensions. You can't rotate nothing at all. Clearly quantum numbers
can't exist for electrons. That's what physicists say.

CLEARLY, they're fucked, at that 'point'. :)

Hehe :) Not much imagination there. It's all phase.

Electrons aren't discs. John is thinking that quantum mechanical spin is
like the spin of a rotating disc. It's not.

> You can't rotate nothing at all.

Electrons aren't nothing. Volume is not a property mandatory for existence.

> Clearly quantum numbers
> can't exist for electrons. That's what physicists say.

Sure, quantum numbers can exist for electrons and that's in fact what
physicists say. Doesn't make quantum mechanical spin the spin of a disc
though.

Yes. QM Spin doesn't have a macroscopic equivalant, although it does have
units of angular momentum like actual spin would. Any attempt to describe it
as a little disc or ball spinning on its axis is doomed to failure.

Predicting your failure is too easy. I just have to see your name in the
From: of a post and I already know you are about to fail.

(Fail #2: You still haven't figured out how to quote the relevant part of
the post you are replying to)

As for me, I'm happy to read your ideas, John. Usually, they're quite
funny and completely disconnected from reality. But to your average
comic-book reader or supermarket tabloid buyer, I'm sure your ideas
might be quite popular.

Have you ever given thought to making a living writing for Weekly World
News? I'm sure they'd eat up your story of being visited by alien police
in a dream.

But I do. It's like when the railroad bridge over the canyon has collapsed,
and you see a train heading down the track toward it at over 100 mph. You
can't do anything to stop it, but how can you not watch?

Oddly I've never said I believe in ghosts, but HVAC says he knows what
people are thinking all the time. He actually believes he is God (cause,
he'd never lie), right? right!
