For example, UFO researchers have published books where they say they 
have interviewed 75 people who "have knowledge of the Roswell incident". 
However, closer examination shows that they are only citing the 
interviews of 25 people, and of those, only 7 of them claim to have 
first-hand knowledge. The others of the 25 were those who had "talked to 
people" who had first-hand contact, and so their comments were hearsay. 
Of the seven, at least one of them changed his story so dramatically 
every time he told it that he lost credibility with his interviewers. On 
of the others was Sergeant Melvin Brown, cited as a star witness. Except 
none of the UFO researchers talked with Melvin Brown, because he died 
before they started to look for witnesses. Instead they talked with his

No, some of the others are also suspect.
For example, one of the others claimed to have picked up some of the 
material from the UFO and found she could not bend it, break it, or 
otherwise destroy it, leading her to think that that it was some 
non-human technology that created it. Except that for years after the 
Roswell incident, she and her husband said that they had not picked up 
any crash material at all. And her statements about the material only 
came after her husband died, leaving her in poor financial shape.

But that's not really the point. I'm not trying to discredit the 
witnesses -- they're perfectly capable of doing that themselves. The 
point is that the UFO researchers have misrepresented their case. They 
have played their readers into thinking that there were 75, 90, maybe 
hundreds of witnesses to the event. So, heck, with hundreds of 
witnesses, there's no denying that it happened, right? Except that was a 
lie. It's a handful of people claiming that something happened. So the 
argument that something undeniably happened (hundreds of witnesses!), 
it's really an argument that something undeniably happened because a 
number of people you can count with the fingers on one hand said it 
happened -- and the UFO researchers that wrote the books obviously 
misrepresented how many witnesses there really were.

Some readers of the books these researchers put out were obviously 
misled. And now the question is, do those readers feel duped? Or do they 
still drink the government conspiracy Kool-Aid?

OK, so now we're down to one person who surfaced a long time AFTER the 
incident with some pictures and video, who maintains that he tried to 
reach out to others with it right after the incident. But he's the only 
person who says that. Everybody else he says he tried to reach out to 
denies that he ever did that. So he SAYS he didn't do anything with it 
between the time of the incident and years later, but since it was in 
HIS closet, nobody can verify that either. So nobody knows whether he 
worked on it for years, and nobody says he surfaced any of it until 
years after the incident.

Now you say Hollywood said that it was too good to be fake, but that's 
not right either. ONE guy from the Hollywood business said that, not the 
whole industry. When YOU say that Hollywood as a whole judges it to be 
not a fake, you are doing the same thing that those UFO researchers did 
-- inflate the opinion of one or two and make it sound like it was the 
consensus of many. That's misleading at best, a lie at worst.

What proves a point is a connected, validated set of resources that 
corroborate each other.

picked up gold. People like you buy lottery tickets, because they

You got it wrong, Boinker. I'm arguing that I question people who 
"admit" that they were part of the hoax. Question authority, Boinker. 
You seem to forget that in these matters there are people actively 
trying to disrupt all evidence and mislead any investigation. Why do you
